Description

Jesuit Dallas is seeking a qualified and passionate educator to serve as a long term science substitute in a Catholic all-male setting.  This position will begin March 1, 2023 and finish out the 2022-2023 school year.

This teacher will be expected to:

  • Teach four sections of Chemistry and one section of AP Environmental Science.
  • Serve as a contributing member of the Science department
  • Work collaboratively with course level teams on lesson design and grading
  • Participate in all departmental and school-wide faculty formation.
  • Participate in student-centered co-curricular, extra-curricular, service, and/or retreat opportunities.
  • Form and educate young men to be open to growth, intellectually competent, loving, religious, committed to working for justice, and physically fit.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Secondary Education or a related field.
  • Advance degree preferred.
  • Teaching experience preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Works in highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a diverse array of contacts.
  • Instructs students who are learning both in person and online.
  • May work at a desk or computer for an extended period of time.
  • Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
