Jesuit Dallas Biology Teacher
Jesuit Dallas is seeking a qualified and passionate educator to teach high school Biology in a Catholic all-male setting. This teacher will be expected to:
- Form and educate young men to be open to growth, intellectually competent, loving, religious, committed to working for justice and physically fit.
- Teach five sections of Biology or other Life Sciences courses such as Anatomy.
- Serve as a contributing member of the Science Department.
- Work collaboratively with course level teams on lesson planning, assessment design, and grading.
- Participate in all departmental and school-wide faculty formation.
- Participate in student-centered co-curricular, extra-curricular, service, and/or retreat opportunities.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Biology or a related field.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience teaching in a Standards Aligned Curriculum preferred.
- Ability to coach high school athletics preferred.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Works in highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a diverse array of contacts;
- Instructs students who are learning both in person and online;
- May work at a desk and computer for an extended period of time;
- Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
