Description
Due to growth in the number of French students, Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas seeks a combination Spanish (2-3 sections) – French (1-2 sections) instructor. The Language Department currently has 7 full-time Spanish teachers, in addition to Mandarin, French and Latin instructors. It is known for its collegial environment and close collaboration to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment. Textbooks are accessed through the IPad and students have the opportunity to practice listening and speaking skills in a language lab about once a week. The modern languages in the department emphasize communicative activities. Interest in chaperoning student language immersion/service trips to France during the school year and Central or South America in the summer is a plus. A Master’s degree in language/ linguistics or education, in addition to teaching experience at the high school or college level, is preferred. Speaking ability at ACTFL advanced level required in French, advanced level-high in Spanish.
