Summary of Essential
Job Functions

- Coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, benefits and employee services.
- Assists in developing school policies related to human resources.
- Administer employee benefits and ensure effective and timely communication to employees and benefit providers.
- Oversee the employee orientation process including documentation and coordination with benefit providers.
- Be available, including before and after school, as a point of contact for employees for benefit information, school policies and other related issues.
- Manage the annual Open Enrollment period and as requested, assist employees in completing the enrollment.
- Process background checks in accordance with school policy for employees and volunteers.
- Coordinate educational opportunities for employees on benefit related issues like Medicare and personal finance.
- Maintain secure and confidential human resource and payroll related files and records.
- Process payroll and related records within the payroll system, including but not limited to, adjustments to rate of pay, recurring payroll items, payroll deductions and off cycle checks.
- Summarize payroll deductions and withholdings for journal entries and resolve related compliance issues.
- Provide information in the 403(b) retirement plan and assist in the enrollment and contribution processes.
- Coordinate the annual Wellness plan including the administrative duties of the on campus physicals and flu shots.
- Audit and approve monthly bills from benefit providers.
- Assist in requests for service such as obtaining proposals and comparing plans for benefit providers.
- Create, manage and assist with ad hoc processes and reports as requested.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or related field
- Minimum of four years of increasingly responsible human resources experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels in the organization.
- Working knowledge of human resource principles, procedures, practices and related federal and state law.
- Ability to effectively deal with multiple priorities, functions and activities.
- Working knowledge and skill of basic business software, including word processing, spreadsheet and data base tracking systems.

- Generally works in standard office conditions and climate.
- Works in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
- May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
